Model Rhea Pillai has demanded Rs 4 lakh as monthly maintenance and protection against dispossession from her matrimonial home in Bandra, by her estranged live-in partner tennis player Leander Paes, over a month after he moved the family court for custody of their minor daughter.

Pillai has sought from Leander a monthly maintenance of Rs 3 lakh for herself and Rs 90,000 for her child who attends one of Mumbai's most expensive schools. She said that Leander failed to financially support her for the last two years.

The magistrate has fixed June 30 as the date for Leader's appearance in court for the matter.

Mridula Kadam, Leander's lawyer said, "We have not been served the complaint copy as yet and will respond to it when we get it." However, she added that, "It clearly however is a counter blast to the custody petition filed earlier."

Pillai, said her lawyer Mrinalini Deshmukh, has filed a complaint under the domesticviolence law on Saturday evening in a local Bandra court. The complaint is against Paes and her father-in-law.

She made her plea in view of an earlier complaint early in May that she had made to the police against her father-in-law alleging that there was an attempt to prevent her access to the Bandra house in Jackers building on Carter Road. She accused them of ill-treatment during a birthday party at the house.

Her DV complaint seeks court's orders to restrain Leander and his father from barring her access to the house. She also wants to prevent Leander from getting any unknown people into the house.

The Israeli military carried out airstrikes on a number of military targets inside Syria, including the military headquarters, in response to a cross-border attack that left an Israeli teenager dead, authorities said.

In a statement early Monday, the military said nine targets were struck and ``direct hits were confirmed.''

"Yesterday's attack was an unprovoked act of aggression against Israel, and a direct continuation to recent attacks that occurred in the area," said Lt Col Peter Lerner, a military spokesman. He said Israel "will not tolerate any attempt to breach Israel's sovereignty and will act in order to safeguard the civilians of the state of Israel".

The strikes came after a civilian vehicle in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights was targeted by forces in neighboring Syria on Sunday.

A 14-year-old boy was killed and two other people were wounded in the first deadly incident along the volatile area since the Syrian civil war erupted more than three years ago. Israel earlier retaliated with tank fire at Syrian government targets.

Lerner earlier said it was "the most substantial incident" along the frontier with Syria since the beginning of the civil war. He said it was unclear whether the vehicle had been struck by a rocket, mortar shell or some other explosive device, but claimed the attack was clearly intentional.

"It was fired directly from east to west," he said, adding that it was a "direct hit" on the vehicle.

The vehicle was driving along a fence that Israel has built along the Syrian frontier, Lerner said. He described the vehicle as a water tanker, and said people on board were doing work for Israel's Defense Ministry at the time. "We have a hole in the fence, which indicates it could be a projectile," Lerner said.

He said Israeli tanks opened fire in response at Syrian government positions, but that it remained unclear whether the Syrian military or rebels had carried out the attack. Israel has said it holds Damascus responsible for any attacks emanating from its territory.

Israel captured the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau overlooking northern Israel, from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war. Israel's annexation of the area has never been recognized internationally.

The incident occurred in the area of Tel Hazeka, near the Quneitra crossing. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Syrian troops had shelled nearby targets on the Syrian border earlier in the day.

Israeli police identified the boy as Mohammed Karaka, 14, of the Arab village of Arraba in northern Israel. Local media said he had accompanied his father, the truck driver, to work.

Later Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he spoke to the boy's father and sent his condolences. "Our enemies don't differentiate between Jews and non-Jews, adults and children," he told an international gathering of Jewish journalists.

Israel has not taken sides in the Syrian civil war. While closely watching the fighting, it has largely stayed out of the violence, though it has occasionally responded to fire that has landed on the Israeli side of the Golan.

The Brazilians booed and held up five fingers to remind the Argentines of how many World Cups they've won. Argentina has two.

Tens of thousands of Argentine fans had traveled to Porto Alegre for the match, taunting Brazilian spectators by singing "Maradona is greater than Pele'' at the 44,000-capacity Beira-Rio Stadium.

Both teams continued to chase more goals but the intensity dropped off somewhat as Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella substituted Messi after the hour-mark.

The second half started at the same furious pace as the first, with two goals within the first five minutes. First Musa took advantage of confusion in the Argentine defense to score his second. Then Rojo made it 3-2 as he got his right knee on a corner kick three minute.

Messi's perfectly hooked free kick restored the lead for Argentina just before halftime. The Argentina captain has scored in each of the team's three matches, and now has a total of four goals.

Messi opened the scoring in the third minute, slamming in the rebound after Angel Di Maria's shot bounced off the post. Nigeria replied within a minute as Musa cut in from the left and beat Sergio Romero with a curling shot toward the far post.

Argentina won Group F while Nigeria also advanced despite the loss, becoming the first African team in the round of 16 in Brazil.

Argentina beat Nigeria 3-2 in their last World Cup group match on Wednesday, with Lionel Messi and Ahmed Musa scoring two goals each before Marcos Rojo kneed in the winner.
